The Mondays

It has been an incredible day. I have thoroughly enjoyed the nice beautiful and warm weather that has been around today. It has been nice just relaxing and enjoying the small things in life.

Last night God spoke greatly and I left secure that we had been faithful this semester. Our journey through Genesis was an incredible journey. It was a time when I was challenged beyond all of my boundaries of thought. As I spent each week learning and studying God was continually teaching me and revealing more things about how he works and the things that he is doing here in Oxford and also in my life very personally.

I pray for all of those prayer requests that we received last night. I pray that God's sovereignty would encourage those struggling with their faith and struggling with seeing God at work. I pray that God would grant peace in the lives of those who are hurting and depressed and that God's spirit would draw those called closely to him.

I pray that the hopeless would see God and the hopeful would be bold for God. I pray that we would not find rest until we have done all that God has called and equipped us to do. I pray that our hearts would burn for those around us who are lost and those around us who are hurting. I pray that grace and love would abound.

Saturday Night

God forgive me for my sin. Forgive me for continually lacking faith and lacking in obedience. God I pray that You would still find in me a man that desires to serve you and sacrifice for you. God I pray that you would find in me a man that You can use in the fulfillment of your Gospel.

God I pray that you would take all the evil that I have done and been part of and allow it to somehow be used for your glory and the spreading of your name. God I pray that you would make me the pastor I keep failing to be.

God I pray that you would remind me of the words that we have been studying in Genesis, that Your word would be alive to me and actively effecting the way I life my life. I pray that I would look at those whom you have called out and I would stand strong in my faith by their example. I pray that I would stop looking for supernatural signs and stand on the truth of what has been spoken and what you have given me. I pray that my heart would overflow with your word and my mind would be captivated with your presence.

Eliminate the distractions I keep placing in my life and allow me to sit in your presence fully aware and attentive to who you are. Allow me to meditate on your spirit and for Your word to become the foundation of who I am.

I pray that you would give me knowledge and wisdom to know your word and to study your word. I pray that you would give me wisdom and discernment to lead your church and to lead the family that you have given me. I pray that I would listen as you speak.

I beg that there would not be one moment in which I did not see you working in around and through me. I pray that I would be keenly aware of what you are doing and I pray that you would choose to let me work with you.

I pray for salvation to fall on this campus and this city. I pray that we would not find rest until redemption has flooded this city.

Friday Prayers

Today I am so thankful for having been able to spend time in the word last night. I am so thankful that God in his grace and wisdom revealed His word to me and taught me last night.  I pray that He would continue teaching me and preparing me for what He is going to do this Sunday.

I am so excited to be teaching about Jacob wrestling with God and the ramifications that has had on my life. I pray that God would open my mouth and use my voice to teach His people. I pray that there would be no confusion just clarity this Sunday. I pray that He would speak boldly and powerfully through this fallen vessel.

I pray that God would protect me from burn out. That I would not become exhausted at what I do but I would find comfort and joy in the presence of the calling He has given me. I pray that each moment with each phone call or text or email that I would see God at work not work at work. I pray that I would be overflowing with grace and wisdom with every situation and moment that I have in life. I pray that He would take all that I have become and transform it into something beautiful.

I pray for all of those that God will draw into his presence Sunday night. I pray that they would be ready to see and hear from God. I pray that they would give up self sufficiency and become wholly dependent on God for life, breath, for joy, salvation, for peace and for love. I pray that we would quit trying to make a way for ourselves and find ourselves wrapped in His presence. I pray that we would be content listening to God and worshiping God. I pray that our hearts would be full and our temptations to control or have a plan would cease. I pray that our lives would reflect the spirit and glory of God.

I pray for a, for m, and a.  I pray that you would continue to make them the men of your calling. I pray that they would be doers of your word and disciples of you in this world. I pray that in all they do, in all they say and everywhere they go they would be a light to the world. I pray that you would give them wisdom and discernment in dealing with life and that you would give them rest and peace and joy so that they will be able to continue the battle. I pray for supernatural strength and courage so that they can be the men of your choosing.

I pray that love would abound and the hearts of all people would be moved by your spirit. Draw us into your presence, redeem us from our sinful selves and let us dwell in your holiness.

Thursday Looking for......

God I pray that today I would be aware of your presence working around me and in my life. God I pray that I would be solely focused on the work you are doing and that I would be aware of whom you are working in.

I pray that today I would not waste one single moment, but would spend each one in Your work and in prayer. I pray that today you would prepare me for Sunday and what you are wanting to teach our church. I pray that my heart would be soft and my mind open to the truth that is in Your word, and that I would not focus on myself or my own understanding but on you and what you are teaching me.

I pray for C today, I ask that you would give him wisdom in dealing with life and circumstances. I pray that you would allow him to be used greatly for your kingdom.

I pray for my meetings today, that you would allow supernatural things to happen in each of them. That you would move in the hearts and minds of the guys I will be seeing and that you would train them to be your disciples. I pray for the callousedness and confusion that invades them and steers them away from you. I pray that your spirit would supercede any human understanding they can have about your or about your presence. I pray that in all they are and all they know, they would still be left seeking and desiring more of you. I pray for these men that they would be the catalyst of a generation and their hearts would be close to you.

I pray that you would demonstrate your greatness through each of them.

I thankyou for all that you have done this week. All the ways you have worked in my life and all the ways you are working in the lives of those in the church. I pray that we would never be content upon recieving portions of your grace, but that each portion on you we recieve would only leave us desiring more and more of your presence and power in our lives.

Make us humble, make us bold, make us in your image, and overflowing with Your worship. Let the Gospel be known.

today's prayer

God today I pray for the upcoming Christmas trip to China. I pray for all 8 of us that are going. I pray that you would prepare our hearts and minds to be used by you. God I pray that you would mold us and make us into a group of people that can be used to fulfill your kingdom purpose in China. 

God I pray that the money would come and that we would have faith that you are going to provide. God I pray that we would not become distracted by the minor details and miss how you working everything out in our lives. I pray that each one of us would experience your grace and mercy in a new and fresh way as we prepare for this trip. I pray for our families, that they would be comforted and that they would have a peace about all of us going. I pray that everything we do would be to your glory and none for us.

God I pray that the nerves of our team would be calmed and all the details would be finalized with ease. God I pray for the travel agents, the field team and the rest that will be heading over this Christmas. I pray that you would sustain us all and that you would renew our passions for you and seeing your kingdom come. God I pray that we would be a people who are listening to your leading and being obedient to your calling.

God I pray that you would allow me to study today and work on Sunday. God I pray that you would let your Word come alive and that you would reveal to me the truths you want to be taught this weekend. God I pray that my heart would be in tune with you and my mind focused on you. God I pray that you would remove the distractions that I have and allow me to focus and get much accomplished today. 

I pray that you would begin revealing your Word to those whom you will bring into your presence this weekend. I pray that you would open their minds and softening their hearts so that they will hear all that you have to say. God I pray that people would feel your spirit working in them and that they would be drawn into your presence this week.

today's prayer

God today I pray for m and k. God I pray that you would continue to make them women of God that would bless your name and honor you everywhere they go. I pray that in every situation in every location that they would be shining your glory to all of creation.  God I pray for them as they deal with test, and homework, and jobs. God I pray that you would remind them that this is all coming together for your good and for your glory. God I pray that you would allow them to remember the things they are studying with clarity and that you would allow their studies to bring them into the lives of unbelievers. I pray that even through studying that they would be able to make your name known.

God I pray for B as she is soooo stressed out with life, school, work, and the future. God I pray that you would calm her and heal her. God I pray that the mounting stress would be alleviated and that the people that are around her would surround her, encourage her, and show her your love. God I pray that as she deals with life she would not lose focus of who you are and how you are directing her paths. God I pray that you would be glorified in every part of her life right now and that she would find peace in your presence.  God I pray that today you would remind her of your love in a supernatural way. God allow the spirit to guide her ways today.

God I pray for the leadership. God I pray that you would give us wisdom in dealing with life and different circumstances. God i pray that you would prepare us to be the leaders this church needs and that you would allow us to lead with boldness and courage. God I pray that everything we do would be about making your name known, nothing about who we are but all about you. God we pray that you would allow this church to a be a church that you would use to spread your name to the ends of the earth.

God I pray for all the unbelievers on this campus and in this city. God I pray for d also. I pray that you would open their hearts and minds to the glory of who you are. God I pray that you would provide opportunities for the church to share with them and to love them and I pray that the church would take those opportunities. I pray that all the unbelievers in the city would have their unbelief challenged and that you would rain down. God spare us from your destruction and deliver us to your presence.

today's prayer

God, today I am very troubled about the way the Bible is being contorted and interpreted incorrectly here in Oxford.  God I pray that you would shut the mouths of those who are teaching what is not Your word and shut the mouths of those who the enemy is using in an attempt to confuse those here in Oxford.  God I pray that your gospel and your word would be preached unreservedly here in Oxford and that you would call the citizens of this town, the students of Miami, and the professors to repentance.  God I pray that your spirit would move in every circle of society in this city and that no sin would be glossed over and no sin would be nullified but every sin would be called to repentance.

God I pray for pastors and religious leaders in this city that are allowing a false Gospel to be taught. God I pray that you would renew their minds and hearts to Your word, God I pray that you would draw them back to the truth, back to yourself.  God I pray that they would not be allowed to lead people astray in Oxford. God I pray that if they are unrepentant that you would remove them from their positions of leadership in the church and I pray that you would be glorified.

I thank you for such a wonderful night last night. I thank you for giving us the opportunity to study your word as a church and for allowing us to address struggles and concerns that we have as a family. God I pray that you will take what was discussed and mentioned last night and use it to grow your people. God I pray that you would develop disciples and teach them what it really means to be the church. God I pray that we would not be a church just bent on control and status quo and what we know about church, but you would equip us to be a church that can walk with each other through the times and trials that we have. 

God I pray that you would strengthen us to resist evil and to resist temptation. God I pray that you would give us wisdom and discernment to know Your word and to live by your word.  God I pray that you would give us courage to be a people that live radically different live for the purpose of seeing your kingdom come.
